Small towns are beautiful

Hello everyone my name is Danielle Sierra and I am an artist and photographer. I produce artwork and portraits under the name of Love's Creations. The goal is to share love through art. My love comes from Jesus and I share it with the world through that which He has blessed me with the ability to create. After taking pictures at the Avenal Elementary School I decided to take pictures of downtown Avenal... which is one small street hehe. I wanted to show that things might look run down, people might not see Avenal as anything particularly special. However as someone who grew up there it gave me memories and we have to take pride in what it does have to offer and thus see the beauty in it... I just so happened to see it's beauty through a lens. There's only a couple and will be more to come as this is an ongoing project, plus I was a bad photographer and my battery wasn't fully charged and died at the courthouse lol.

May the one true God bless America... the further we get away from Him... the more desperately we need Him.

Avenal Elementary School... childhood dreams now memories

After leaving a clients house in Avenal I decided to pull over at the Avenal Elementary School and take some pictures of some memorable sites on the campus for me.

This is where I would haul butt to class cause I was ALWAYS late... thanks mom :P To the right I would run to Mrs. Hedgecock for Kindergarten class, and I would run to the left to Mr. Hefkes for first grade. Both were truly great teachers and probably where I learned a lot of my aesthetic with crayons. I did win a DARE poster contest in Mr. Hefkes :)

This is the front of Avenal Elementary School. I know one of the guys who keeps the school looking as good as it does... I'm painting his daughters room (pics to come soon). I love the architecture of this school, look at the different levels and the lines. I used to wait here for my momma to come pick me up... never on time lol but I think I liked my quiet time.

This specifically is where I would sit and wait for the moms. The fun part was waiting till everyone left so I could run and jump to sit on those bricks, I was a short lil thing.

This was my fifth grade classroom. Woot woot Mrs. Razda, sweetest lil lady who let the good kids play Oregon Trail :)

This is where we would walk (or rather run) to and line up for lunch. Most of the kids would jump up and touch that ceiling part... I was a short lil thing and never could... tell you what after I took this picture... I finally did :P

I think it's odd, to say the least, to revisit a place where things once seemed high and tall and big. It was somewhere during my time here at this school that my mother told me that God and Jesus existed, my lil head couldn't understand it... still can't... but when she told me to have a personal relationship with God, I think my lil heart did understand. I think its important our children know who Jesus Christ is, plant the seed and your child's life will be fruitful. 

"People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant.
